Please find attached a flyer for the West Wellington Spring Open Day to be held this Sunday 18 September 2011, to be held by the WWPG in conjunction with the Huon Valley Environment Centre.
The aim of the event is to promote the conservation values of this high altitude forested area which adjoins Wellington Park and also to outline the ongoing threats from clearfelling and roading. Despite the signing of the Intergovernmental Agreement (IGA) on Forestry, Forestry Tasmania has pushed in roading and begun harvesting a coupe within the 430,000Ha designated for ‘immediate protection’ under the IGA.
