Cucina Povera DINNER & ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING

SUNDAY JULY 3, 2011

The Cucina Povera Dinner will follow the Slow Food Hobart AGM on Sunday July 3. Matthew Evans food writer and star of SBS’s Gourmet Farmer and Rodney Dunn from The Agrarian Kitchen, a Lachlan based sustainable farm-based cooking school, will present their Terra Madre stories. Rodney and Matthew headed the Australian delegates who participated in Slow Food’s Terra Madre world meeting of food communities in October 2010.

Judith Sweet, Tasmanian cook and food consultant will present an Italian peasant-style dinner. Chicken liver crostini will feature in the tasting plates to begin the meal while we have a tasting of wines conducted by Mark Smith from Stefano Lubiana Wines, who will also supply the wines for dinner.  A rustic Roman samb dish will follow and a delicious seasonal desert.

The dinner will be held in Hodgkin Hall at Friends’ School, Hobart, starting with the AGM at 4pm.

The cost is $80 for members and $95 for non-members, inclusive of wine with three courses.
