To celebrate our first birthday, to get to know our community better, and to welcome the potential return of the winged
Mexican serpent god, Quetzalcoatyl, due sometime this year and heralding yet another end-of-the-world prediction, we are
starting an urban community market that brings together local growers and suppliers sharing their talents, tastes, and food
passions.
Over 13 weeks MoMa will also offer a range of art-stall projects featuring local designers and craftspeople, along with live
music organised by our MOFO curator, Brian Ritchie.
What: Opening of Mona Market (MoMa) – Jan 21 - with ribbon-cutting ceremony and music.
Dates: January 21 to April 14, 2012
Time: 1:30pm to 6:30pm
Where: MONA plaza
Who: Everyone who loves: the smell of a ripe soft cheese; being able to go a market in the late afternoon and still find
something to buy; a bit of raw endemic and exotic introduced species; seasonal veg and fruit grown nearby; environmentally
gorgeous skin creams; real homemade icecream; the self-righteous taste of a perfectly prepared green tea; funky stall
holder tents and more.
