A Tribute to EVA CASSIDY
Friday August 13, 7:30pm
One of Tasmania’s most respected and popular jazz vocalists, Kaye Payne, will present a tribute to the American jazz, blues, gospel and pop vocalist Eva Cassidy, with keyboardist and bassist Randall Muir, as part of the Moonah Arts Centre’s popular Friday Night Concert Series.
Described as having one of the greatest voces of her generation, Eva Cassidy tragically achieved world wide recognition following her untimely death in 1996.
Renown for her pure emotive voice and her interpretation of songs, in seven years she recorded over 100 songs on ten albums, leaving a fabulous collection of music. She has been gone for almost 14 years but is still remembered with admiration and respect. Her repertoire includes songs from some of the many greats including Gershwin, Arlen, Willie Nelson, Boz Scaggs, Sting as well as her own compositions.
Kaye Payne and Randal Muir will take you through a musical journey of the great legacy left by Eva Cassidy.
