We should remember that the bail conditions are set by a magistrate. No Tasmanian can have forgotten so soon that magistrates and judges are almost all Tasmanian lawyers chosen by the Tasmanian Govt cabinet, i.e. by people like Sturgo, Lennon, Aird, Llewellyn, etc.. Unsurprisingly, they usually pick people much like themselves.
What we clearly need to do now is find this Hercules bloke who cleaned out the Augean stables and offer him a job with carte blanche powers on the new Tasmanian Integrity Commission. I don’t think anything less will work here.

I can’t believe it. Peter has broken the law twice in a week.
Now he has done a virtual invasion of the parliament lawns.
Give me a call if you need a file cake Peter.
They won’t be able to tell which is file and which is cake if I make it for you.

What is strange though is that we got varied bail conditins. Some people only had to avoid the area for 24 hours. Some of us have till 13th of Jan or 3rd of Feb, depending upon where our case is heard. It didn’t seem to matter if we were 1st or 2nd time offenders, our age or where we lived. You would think that as we all were arrested at the same time, for the same reason that we would get the same bail. Hmm, maybe those that must be listened to got in there and started heavying the cops into making it harder for us.
