You seen The Banker ... ? Don’t miss it:
Methinks! Traffic lights are modern day toll booths; the more I observe the more I realise that they are little more than tools to impose a very subtle stealth tax, sometimes you don’t get charged, but most of the time you do.
The extra tax on fuel burnt whilst waiting for lights to change must amount to a shiny penny, but at what cost to the NHS and the general well-being of humanity.
A friend said he had read a piece by Greg Palast which stated that Wal-Mart’s criteria when moving into a town included estimating how many businesses it would cripple and how inhospitable the local shopping centre could be made by congesting traffic.
Tesco has arrived in my litle town, bigger and more lorries, a High St narrowed by 12ft and three extra sets of traffic lights???
I’ve just come through the bigger town up the road, same thing, loads of cars parked-up; engines running for no apparent reason?
I have not seen one set of traffic lights that could not be replaced with a simpler form of traffic control ...
