If you land a job in any way dependent on the Lennon Government you will soon understand why our mainstream editors tend to avoid the “G” word when tiptoeing around the massive footprint of “G”. The most serious taboo in the Tassie kingdom is the concept of honesty. Quite obviously, many coughing Taswegians would rather die than mention the subject.

A solid grounding in Lewis Carroll will be immensely beneficial in coming to terms with the subtlety of Tasmanian thought.  Try not to snicker when informed of the debt owed to “G” by everyone from tourism to eagles. 

If you find you still have problems understanding things around you, read some of the news from Burma, which is a bit further along the road to liberal democracy.
