Tournament of Minds is a program which teams the opportunity to participate in open ended, creative activities with exciting Challenges which require experimentation and which reward divergent thinking.
Mrs McLaren said that Tournament of Minds was one of the fastest growing national interschool programs challenging the youth of Australia.
“It’s a problem-solving program for teams of students from both primary and secondary years, requiring them to solve demanding, open ended challenges in the areas of language, maths and social science,” she said.
“TOM sets NO limits on your learning, and one of the best things about TOM is that students get to do all of this together with the 6 other people who make up their team. That means that they will need to get to know each other pretty well and that usually means a lot of fun!”
The eight winning teams are invited to participate at the Australasian Pacific Final to be held in Brisbane October 24th. All states, and teams from Singapore and New Zealand gather to compete and present solutions to three-hour challenges.
