it is so true that no-one of deep intellect and strong morals would ever venture anywhere near a political party that, by its very nature, demands that one’s principles are kept in check and even subverted, in the interest of maintaining the parties power. If merely being a union representative or popular is ‘a good back ground’ for entering Parliament then heaven help us all.

It seems the Liblab circus is really up the creek.
They are wheeling out anyone who can crawl, walk or talk.
The fear is if they chuck enough opium at the masses and keep hurling jugglers into the ring then one of the clowns is bound to get a gig under the big top.

Which electorate will Scott be representing? Perhaps he’ll be representing the ‘terrorists’ of the Tamar valley.
It’s certainly an interesting attitude from a public representative, even more interesting that the Labor party would support such an approach to taxpayers.

It certainly makes sense to formally merge the ALP with the remnants of the woodchip industry. There could be significant synergies between the public and private sector thuggery of the two, with talents such as Scott and young Hulme ensuring we keep our edge as the only first world place sufficiently dumb to seek a place in the world pulp market.

Scott didn’t I ask you to move to Brazil where forest contractors are still employed flattening the Amazon? Labor intellectuals like Scott insist on globalisation in the left-hand column but localisation on the right-hand side. It’s a globalised labor market Scott so off you go to Brazil to do what you do best, trashing anything that stands upright and reducing the planet to a concrete car park.

The same Scott McLean who advised his members to vote for Howard at the 2004 election? This bloke was State union secretary and he advised his members to vote for Howard! He had an opportunity to move his 520 or so CFMEU forestry members out of the wood chipping industry to the tune of 800 million under Latham’ s plan. Instead of maintaining solidarity he chose to side with Howard and sink Federal Labors numbers in Bass & Braddon, and now it is proposed he run for labor?
Do Labor party members have any notion of the history of union struggle in this nation? This bloke should have his party membership revoked for treachery and sent calling to his Tory allies. I am sure the Liberals would receive him into the Melbourne club with open arms, but then again maybe he doesn’t have the right school tie.
