Dave, you can’t fool everyone.  The photos of Alanvale Flats and the Tamar River looking to Riverside show typical Launceston fog, not smoke.

I live on the West Tamar, and work in Alanvale right next to the river and can vouch for both.

Dave you have a keener eye than the gentlemen criticising you.

If they were to look more closely at these images they would make out the blue haze mingled with the fog, and the brown cloud colouring associated with those unnatural forest burns.

The following couple of days here in Launceston we were inundated with a blanket of blue haze and the smell of forest burn.

Nature has fires, but not at the intensities that these forest fires burn, and nor does nature throw so many fires at us compared to how many man-made burns are conducted here in Tasmania each year.

Launceston is continually bombarded by the results of these burn offs, and due to our topography, it hangs around for days…an then they make the people feel guilty because they are using wood heaters to heat themselves.

Just wait and see what a toxic pumping, water guzzling pulp mill will do to our valley!

The word “smog” is created from a combination of “smoke” and “fog”...SMOG! Get it?

Don’t worry about fooling sucking savs etc.

There is cloud, sky, water, trees and other things mingled with copious quantities of smoke.
I am sorry my images were not quite as clear as I would have liked.

I don’t assume to play anyone for a fool, but also I also expect the same courtesy in return.

If time and light allowed there was a very good shot of the “burn” looking from East to West around Hillwood, but alas I will have to suck more foolish savs for now.
