STATE experts have identified seven pesticides in Oregon groundwater or streams that could pose a risk to human or environmental health. Four violated state water-quality standards or guidelines that protect aquatic life. The rest could pose a risk, but the exact threat is unclear because no in-stream standards cover them. The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency has linked three of the pesticides to cancer, and wildlife advocates say almost all hurt Pacific salmon. Read more here
