If Peter Garrett was an executive in a private business in which people died on the job performing their duty he would be shut down, dragged before an inquiry and the coroner and probably charged with manslaughter for not providing a safe work place.

Workplace Safety officials would be crawling all over the place.

Mr Garrett was warned by those in the industry 12 months ago. Now, it’s cost the lives of four young men and it’s going to cost hundreds of millions of dollars to rip it all out and replace it with something safe at OUR cost.

Mr Garrett should be sacked and criminally investigated for neglecting his duty of care in carrying out his responsibilities.

He didn’t even consider it important enough to attend this week’s meeting of stakeholders to discuss the matter.

Resign Mr Garrett, you have shown nothing but incompetence and inaction in the short time you have (mis)represented us.
