Let’s preview the rally.

1.  It will rain, so the move to the Albert Hall was sensible.

2.  2,500 will attend, but organisers will claim the figure was 10,000

3.  We will hear the same rhetoric about destroying our pristine wilderness, and the same paranoid rantings about John Gay having a hotline to the Premier.

4.  Little will be added to the debate about how Tasmania can achieve sustainable economic growth with or without a pulp mill.

Personally, I don’t have a strong view either way on Gunns’ proposal, but I do know that the ‘artists impression’ of the pulp mill from the Wilderness Society looks suspiciously like a take from an old episode of The Simpsons.

You guess which one.

As far as not having a view either way, perhaps you could read Gunns proposal and you may be more informed, although by the sarcastic slant in your post it seems you already have an opinion.

You missed a great event.

Actually Dave, smithers is wrong on all 4 counts

That’s not a preview or a prediction!

Its no credit to smithers that he knows the capacity of the Albert Hall. And yes it was filled beyond capacity, and no the organisers did not claim 10,000. Smithers, perhaps you would be confusing the organisers of this rally with a Gunns sponsored pro-logging rent-a-rally.

No rhetoric smithers and not much talk about Mr. Burns…. I mean John Gay.  But John Gay did speak to the rally via his company’s own Pulp Mill Literature, which I must say makes for fascinating reading.

Facts and opinions were mainly specific to the Pulp Mill. They were also diverse, original and informative. I received a lot of new info during the rally.

Very very wrong Smithers. The Rally included a beautifully balanced and rather substantial speech by Dr. Tony McCall regarding the Pulp Mill and Economic growth. It was very similar to the Tony Mccall piece provided in the link below. Read it!

And Smithers, from the looks of your comments I doubt that you don’t have an opinion on the Gunns mill. I doubt it very much. I suspect you know more than enough to have formed an opinion.

I also suspect you are northener who has been very active on this website in the recent past.

But the fact that you say you don’t yet you choose to take cheap pot shots at the ordinary folk of Launceston who do is also no credit to you.
