Feral cat scat analysis isn’t everyone’s forte but I can tell readers that from an examination of nearly 400 scats from several national parks in southern, eastern and central Tasmania that indigenous small mammals and native birds are present in most feral cat scats.  Yes, that includes pygmy possums, swamp rats, long-tailed mice, broad-toothed rats, antechinus, blue wrens, robins, rosellas, currawongs, ground parrots, little penguins, etc; all taken as live prey.  And where have all the quail gone?
