You’re a trooper Don! Have the Commonwealth Bank across the the road there shouted you a round of drinks yet? Their Gunns shares are looking a little light at the moment. Do you cop much criticism in your vigil?

Tigh! to be absolutely honest i really can’t read the mood .
I spend most likely 3—-4 hours a day probably 4—5 days a week ! doing it ! guy,s my age look sideways with a lopsided grin , so i don’t know what they think ! most of those who actually come up say thank,s are baby boomers and ladies (and i don,t think the latter are after me bod) and i must say i have never had a derogatory remark except a couple of suits who took photo’s and asked me if i owned my house, two youngsters at a pub who were just winding me up , and a car full of rednecks who followed me in from the esk market one sunday yelling obscenities, and tried forcing me into another car.
There are wany who give the thumbs up sign and blow there horn’s with a smile so i think perhaps the tide really is turning against the proponents of the mill, as well it should .
I’m about as far from green as you can get most likely because of some stupid campaigns in the past however i have to give brown some kudo.s for his tenacity, and as for building the thing elsewhere that is also a no, no , the problem is much bigger then Tasmania ! it’s a world problem and should be seen and treated as such, and as for the reason i got involved ? i read a book by David Susuki and decided it was time to get off my arse while i still could.
ciao,

Good on you for standing up Don. Just one thing: I would like to shout you a new computer keyboard… one with a working apostrophe symbol so you don’t need to use a comma in its place!

G’day Bazza,
It seems as though Don has that particular issue covered by the looks of the above post. U think Don might be a fan of e.e.cummings?
“Cummings is best known for his poems and their unorthodox usage of capitalization, layout, punctuation and syntax. There is extensive use of lower case; word gaps, line breaks and gaps appear in unexpected places; punctuation marks are omitted or misplaced, interrupting sentences and even individual words; grammar and word order are sometimes strange. Many of his poems are best understood when read on the page. When read in the correct fashion, his poems often paint a syntactical picture as vital to the understanding of the poem as the words themselves.”
not. Progress is a comfortable disease:
your victim(death and life safely beyond)
plays with the bigness of his littleness —electrons deify one razorblade
into a mountainrange;lenses extend
unwish through curving wherewhen till unwish
returns on its unself.
A world of made
is not a world of born—pity poor flesh
and trees, poor stars and stones, but never this
fine specimen of hypermagical
ultraomnipotence. We doctors know
a hopeless case if—listen:there’s a hell
of a good universe next door;let’s go”
My favourite cummings jotting is,
“To be nobody-but-myself in a world which is doing its best, night and day, to make me everybody else - means to fight the hardest battle which any human being can fight, and never stop fighting.”
—e.e. cummings
Keep on punching Don (O:

Don! At last I can picture a face when I read your posts!
I admire someone who sticks his head up like you do…........keep it up…........I’ll keep an eye out for you & say gidday when I am in Lonnie.
And by the way, it is not really necessary to use correct grammar or faultless punctuation and spelling to make a lot of sense. At least you are consistent!

Just wanted to mention that my main motivation in mentioning Don’s use of punctuation is to help support the cause. Failing to use correct punctuation harms the cause because it makes anti-pulp-mill campaigners look stupid. i.e. if we can’t even use correct punctuation then what does that say about our understanding of the more complex scientific environmental issues? It is important to maintain a good image.
It takes virtually no extra time to use the correct punctuation - nothing compared to all the time and trouble of printing a sign.
Thanks and sorry if I sound harsh.

once and for all i am dyslexic ! and yes i can correct that which i do wrong ! however it takes much time ! and some times i have the time ! and some times i don,t ! and 25 years of writing to newspapers Australia wide doesn’t seem to have attracted that ! which i have found here in several months, so really it’s quite simple ! DON’T BLOODY READ EM ,can’t be plainer than that.
have a nice day
