The approach taken to foxes in Tasmania has been troubling for many years now. Regrettably there are too many vested interests at play in securing long-term funding. The program is backed up by a series of sensational incidents in which the supporting physical/forensic evidence has the hallmarks of falsification and deception. Why, after 7 years of being constantly indoctrinated that Tasmania harbours European red foxes in so many widely distributed locations, are there still no recoveries of actual foxes? Is the current public propaganda on foxes enough to sustain the very large annual budgets for this program? When will a logic-based review of 7 years of expenditure and the actual evidence sustaining the claim that Tasmania has a small, dispersed fox population ever get undertaken? Read more, Comment here
