NOMINATIONS are open for all positions on the Battery Point Sullivans Cove Community Association’s executive. The annual general meeting has been brought forward from October to August 21st, and nominations for all positions - from committee member to president - must be received by the secretary by August 17th.

The AGM of the BPSCCA in October last year was a farce, with dozens of people denied a voice. If you want a voice this year, you must join or renew your membership before August 17th.

To join, renew membership, nominate someone for a position or be nominated for a position,  contact the secretary for the relevant forms. The secretary is Jill Yeoland. Her telephone number:  6224 0550.

Membership is open to all residents of Battery Point, anyone who works in the suburb, anyone who has a business in the suburb or who owns property in it. It is also open to anyone with a demonstrated interest in Battery Point.

The BPSCCA roughly covers an area from Salamanca Place in the east, to Princes St in the west, from Davey St to the north, to Marieville Esplanade to the south.

Membership costs $10 - up from $5 last year, but remains $5 for pensioners (There is no mention of students on the form prepared by the treasurer, Fiona Murton, but students may be able to argue their case).

The AGM will be held at the Battery Point Community Hall, Hampden Rd, on Tuesday 21st August at 7.30pm.
