The blame for the wild rivers deal lays squarely at the feet of the queensland government however the Wildos should also take some responsibility.
The lesson in the story for Tasmania is that all parties including much maligned timber workers should be consulted on land use.
No group whether it be ABA, TAP, Labor, Liberal, the wildos the left or the right should have the final say on how land, water & sea is managed.
The Tasmanian Times is home to some in the environmental left including the deep green anti-plantationists who will never be happy until they see no forest industry in Tasmania. They are not interested in consulting anyone in the timber industry and would be happy to see this section of the community thrown on the scrap heap.
In many Tasmanian families & communities there are generations of timber industry workers & traditions that greenies of all different shades & colors have little appreciation of.
Just as the Wildos appeared to be ingnorant of indigenous issues in the wild rivers case
Harsh but unfortunately true.
Myopia does not exist exclusively in conservationists or timber workers.
It can be found in both camps.
