Image for Blackouts ahead?

Hydro Tasmania has $1.1B of debt.

Revenue is falling.

Their central dams are drying out because they are now in a rain shadow caused by the NW mountain range and the strengthening East Australia Current.

Tasmania will soon be without adequate hydro power capacity and have no available funds to change to other power sources.

Tasmania is already dependent on coal-based power from Victoria.

Tasmania may soon experience major blackouts.

Hydro Tasmania’s water used for power production at best returns $30/ML at peak power demand.
