Abetz & Hodgman : The Epilogue

Eric & Will meet (yet again) to discuss the future in the aftermath of the 2010 Election …
Perhaps we will never have a really democratic government here until citizen initiated referendums are made part of the system.
Imagine having a say in the pokies monopoly, old growth clear felling, the pulp mill below cost electricity supply to big business to name just a few of the contentious issues.
An accurate assessment of the current turmoil in our State governance is that all of this mayhem has been created by those backroom fixed interest charlatans.
Evil people are working to wreck the outcome of the voters choice, this also reflects poorly upon our State Governor’s preference to restore the Labor Party to government.
So much for integrity when it comes to the high end of town?
Recycling of Senator Abetz’s staff to Mr Hodgman’s office has not inspired confidence. As several journalists have highlighted this arrangement increases cynicism that the Tasmanian Liberal Party is controlled by Sentaor Abetz and forestry interests.
There are perceptions and there is reality. Is it any wonder that Tasmanians, knowing the history and the personalities involved here, would be sceptical of these arrangements?
